LOGOS Notes
Coming attractions for kids and youth…
LOGOS is our Youth Ministry. It is a kids and youth program designed to teach all about our Lord Jesus AND practice what He taught in a fun, safe and nurturing environment. The cool thing is that this program is staffed and run by parents and adults who care about kids and want to pass on the love of God. If you haven’t signed up yet, forms are available at the Church Office or you can find them on-line at the Logos Team Wiki See you there!
Next Logos / Youth Ministry is on Jan. 11th
“LOVING OUR KIDS ON PURPOSE” - An opportunity for parents!
(Making a heart-to-heart connection)
Tom will be leading these classes on parenting which consists of reading Pastor Danny Silk’s book “Loving Our
Kids on Purpose”, watching 6 one hour DVD’s, and talking with each other about learning to relate to our children
the way God relates to us. Books can be purchased on Sunday mornings or through the Church Office.
From Danny Silk’s introduction: “Welcome to ‘Loving our Kids on Purpose’! This may or may not be new
information to you, but it is most likely a radical paradigm shift. This book will challenge what you’ve come to
know as love, discipline, honor, and your overall goal of parenting. As well, this book will introduce you to a way
of thinking and living that will bring an ease and peace to your family and other relationships.”
Dates: Sundays, January 11, 18, 25, February 1, 8, 15; 4:30 p.m. – 6:15 p.m. If you are not able to attend Sunday
evenings, another class will be offered on Wednesday evenings, January 14, 21, 28, February 4, 11, 18 from 7:30
p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Contact the Church Office (729-6197) for more information or to register. Let us know if child care is needed.

- Confirmation Class News Most students attend Confirmation class during ninth grade, but the class is open to all H.S. age students who want to take an important next step in their spiritual walk publicly declaring their faith in Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Confirmation class will be starting a bit later this fall, and will be meeting later in the day on Sunday, so that the class can be part of the new LOGOS youth ministry. An information meeting for Confirmands and their parents will be held on September 21 at 7:00 p.m. during LOGOS orientation. All those interested are urged to attend this meeting. Confirmation class meetings will begin Sunday evening, October 12 during the Bible study portion of LOGOS. As in the past, classes will center around a Confirmation curriculum that Pastor Tom has refined over the last several years. Mentors will lead students through the curriculum in small groups. The Confirmation class year will include at least one overnight retreat in November, and ongoing opportunities for service. You can contact Peter Kirschenbaum at 973-729-3126 for more information.
