Any Soldier. The passion of one individual to support our troops in battle zones by providing them with personal care items, snacks, magazines, etc is supported in weekly donations by our congregation.
Blessed Beginnings Pre School and Kindergarten. This school is operated by FPCS not only for the children of members but as a testimony and outreach into the community.
Bread Ministry. Operated by a small group of dedicated individuals, day-old bread is picked up every Monday - Thursday morning from local bakeries, then re-packaged and distributed to local food pantries, soup kitchens and senior centers. 973-729-6197 ext. 14
Bread of Life. Each Saturday lunch, clothing and prayer is provided to the less fortunate in Memorial Park, Newton.
Christmas Mission Offering. Three mission causes are selected as recipients of an extra Christmas offering. The 2011 offering provided about $2,000 each to: Any Soldier Ministry, the Food Pantry and the Kasasule Health Clinic in Kenya.
Comforting Arms Memorial Garden for the Unborn. This garden was created to provide healing and hope to all those who have suffered the grief of abortion, miscarriage or stillbirth. Engraved memorial pavers are placed in the center walkway.
Deacon’s Family Aid. Established by the Board of Deacons to assist those in need.
Discretionary Fund. A similar fund established for use by the pastor to provide emergency assistance.
Missions Card Shop. In 2006 FPCS was the beneficiary of the non-medical stock when a local pharmacy was acquired by a large grocery chain. The remaining greeting card stock is now maintained and operated as a card shop for the benefit of church members, and the resulting contributions augment mission funds.
Rummage Sale. (Presbyterian Women) PW coordinates this semi-annual event in which the community donates used clothing and house wares. Over 350 needy individuals receive free clothing at each sale and at least one truck load of left over items are sent to other local missions. Proceeds of each sale are then channeled back into other Mission causes.
Toy March. Each year at Christmas the members of FPCS contribute new toys which are then given to the recipients of the food baskets.
Wrapped in Love. A group of FPCS members knit prayer shawls which are then distributed to those who are ill, or perhaps to someone who just needs to be reminded of God’s love for them.
