CHRISTIAN EDUCATION COUNCIL

 

Our Christian Education program includes Youth Ministry (K-8th & Senior High Fellowships), Confirmation, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and educational opportunities for adults.  The primary goal is to help our congregation to develop a deeper understanding of what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ.  It is essential to the health of a church that it be able to pass on to the next generation its faith in Jesus Christ and that it enable its adults to mature in their relationship to Christ as His ambassadors to the world.  It is our purpose to be faithful to the apostolic tradition we have received in the New Testament.  The Old and New Testaments stand as the ultimate authority for our life of faith.

 

_____  Christian Education Council Member - A council member serves on the C.E. Council and helps to shape the content and direction of our C.E. program. 

 

Adult Education

_____  Teacher/Leader - We are hoping to expand our Christian Education program for adults over the next several years.  If you have experience in teaching adults this may be where God wants you to serve. 

_____  Member of Adult Education Committee - This subcommittee will help in planning for the future development of our Adult Education program.  

_____  Small Group Bible Study Participant - The groups would meet for Bible study, prayer, creating new friendships, and would decide on some form of ministry to be carried out together.

_____  Small Group Bible Study Leader - If you have experience or would like to be trained to lead small groups.  Being part of a small group can be one of the true joys of discipleship.

_____  Women’s Bible Studies

 _____  Men’s Bible Studies

Youth Ministry

Do you have a love for Jesus Christ and a love for kids?  Do you enjoy spending time with them and can you share the gospel with them in terms they can understand?  As important as any of the above:  Do you have a sense of humor?  If you answered yes, you most likely have the gift of working with young people.

 

Sunday School Teacher - Sunday School begins in September and ends in June (Curriculum is provided)

Youth Programs - These are more informal than Sunday School and allow more time for games and fellowship in addition to Bible Study.  In these programs people are needed who can lead small group Bible discussions, supervise games, share your faith, provide a snack, assist with transportation, attend retreats when possible.  If you can only help on a part-time basis or with only 1 or 2 of these activities you are still welcome.

Library - Our church library has over 900 books and a variety of video and cassette tapes.  If you have a sense of vision for a library ministry we could use your help.  We need:

Vacation Bible School - Meets for one week in the summer.  VBS is a great week for our younger kids. We have very creative leadership who give it their best to make this a special time for our children to learn about the love of Jesus Christ.  We need teachers and a variety of resource people:
